Ahmed Elawady is an Egyptian actor and boxer, born on December 12, 1985, in the Ain Shams district of Cairo. Before entering the entertainment industry, he was a professional boxer, a background that has significantly influenced his physically demanding roles and given him a strong on-screen presence. He graduated from the Faculty of Commerce at Helwan University in 2006, where he was also active in university theater. Elawady's professional acting career was launched in 2009 when he was discovered by the late legendary actor Nour El-Sherif, who cast him in the series "Matkhafoush" ("Don't Be Afraid"). He later appeared in the third part of "El-Daly" in 2011. After a brief hiatus, he made a powerful comeback in 2014 with the series "The Seven Commandments." A major turning point in his career came in 2020 with his portrayal of the terrorist Hisham Ashmawy in the hit series "El Ekhteyar" ("The Choice"), a role that earned him critical and popular acclaim for his masterful performance. This led to a series of leading roles in highly successful television dramas, including "Elly Maloush Kebeer" (2021) alongside actress Yasmin Abdulaziz, "Darb Naar" (2023), and "Haq Arab" (2024). In 2024, he also achieved significant box-office success with the lead role in the film "El Eskandarany," directed by Khaled Youssef.
