Beyond his role as an Imam, Sheikh AlAfasy has made significant contributions to the field of Islamic nasheeds, beginning his career in 2003 with the poem "Aya Man Yada'ie Alfahim." He has since released numerous successful albums. A key part of his mission includes founding Alafasy TV, the first Kuwaiti Islamic satellite channel dedicated to the Quran. He also frequently serves as a judge in prestigious international Quran competitions.
