Dr. Mamun Mohammed Nadim Alwani is a Syrian-Italian media professional, artist, and content creator, born in Hama, Syria, on January 20, 1963. His career uniquely blends artistic creativity with media expertise. He began his academic journey at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University, graduating first in his class in 1987. This distinction earned him a scholarship to the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he specialized in oil painting. He later obtained a Master's degree in Art Criticism from The Hague International University in the Netherlands. Alwani's media career began in Italy, where he worked as a correspondent for prominent Arab channels, including Arab Radio and Television Network (ART), Al Jazeera (1997-1999), and Abu Dhabi TV (1999-2005). He then moved to Abu Dhabi to become the Director of Television Projects at Abu Dhabi Media. During his tenure, he created and supervised highly successful television programs such as "Mothea' Al Arab" (The Arab Announcer) and "Arab Casting," which garnered a large following across the Arab world. He also hosted his own show, "Alwani," aimed at making fine art more accessible to the general public. In recent years, Dr. Alwani has shifted his focus to digital media, founding the "Rating" platform. Through its YouTube channel, he presents analytical and intellectual programs like "Enigma" and "Al-Miftah," which explore contemporary political, social, and cultural topics. This has established him as an influential figure in the Arab digital space. Alongside his media work, he continues his practice as an artist, having held 12 solo exhibitions in Syria and Italy.
