Rahma Riad, born Rahma Abdulredha Mezher Al-Sibahi on January 19, 1987, in Basra, is a prominent Iraqi singer and artist. Raised in an artistic family, she is the daughter of the late renowned Iraqi singer Riad Ahmed, who was a major influence and supporter of her talent from a young age. Her artistic journey began early, with participation in several popular Pan-Arab talent shows, including "Super Star" in 2004 and later "Najm Al Khaleej." Riad's career breakthrough occurred in 2010 when she became a finalist in the seventh season of "Star Academy," which gained her widespread recognition across the Arab world. Following the show, she launched a successful solo career, releasing a series of hit singles. Her 2018 song, "Waed Menni" (A Promise from Me), became a monumental success, amassing hundreds of millions of views on YouTube and establishing her as a leading female artist. This was followed by other major hits like "Al Kawkab" (The Planet) and "Athadakom" (I Challenge You). In addition to her music career, Rahma Riad has established herself as an influential television personality, serving as a judge on the popular talent show "Iraq Idol" on MBC Iraq. In her personal life, Riad married Iraqi-American actor Alexander Aloum in August 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alya, in March 2024. Due to her professional commitments, she often divides her time between several Arab countries.
