Huda Kattan is an Iraqi-American entrepreneur and globally recognized figure in the beauty industry, best known as the founder and CEO of the cosmetics empire Huda Beauty. Born in Oklahoma City, USA, to Iraqi parents, Kattan initially pursued a degree in finance from the University of Michigan–Dearborn. After a brief career in finance, she moved to Dubai in 2006 to follow her true passion, studying makeup artistry in Los Angeles and working as a makeup artist for brands like Revlon and with celebrities such as Eva Longoria and Nicole Richie. In 2010, Kattan launched her beauty blog, "Huda Beauty," which quickly garnered a massive international following. This digital success paved the way for the launch of her eponymous cosmetics line in 2013, which she co-founded with her sisters Mona and Alya. The brand's debut product, a line of false eyelashes, became an instant success, famously worn by Kim Kardashian. The company has since grown into a billion-dollar enterprise offering over 140 products. Beyond Huda Beauty, Kattan has expanded her business interests to include the fragrance brand Kayali, founded by her sister Mona, and the venture capital firm HB Investments, which supports emerging entrepreneurs. Kattan resides in Dubai, where her company is headquartered.
