Abdullah Al Hamawi, known as "Shami Chef," is a prominent Syrian chef and content creator who blends his passion for culinary arts with an academic background in engineering. Born in Saudi Arabia in 2001, he moved to the United Kingdom at the age of fourteen in 2015, where he lived for many years and obtained British citizenship. He currently splits his time between the UK and Riyadh, where he recently purchased a new home as his base in the Arab region. Abdullah’s culinary journey was inspired by his mother, a seasoned expert with forty years of experience in Syrian cuisine, from whom he learned the foundations of traditional recipes. He further honed his skills through specialized courses in Western and Asian culinary arts. Alongside his culinary pursuits, Abdullah earned a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Hull. Supported by his family, he entered the world of content creation, presenting his recipes in a style that combines humor and education, earning him widespread acclaim. He is known for his signature phrases such as "Ahlain wa Sahlain binour el-ain" and "Mou mishan shi, mishan sehtak," which have become his trademarks. Abdullah has appeared on several television programs, most notably as a recurring guest on "Sabah Al Arabiya" on Al Arabiya TV, where he presents innovative recipes and discusses modern culinary topics.
