Helan Abdulla, known globally by her stage name Helly Luv, is a multi-talented artist, singer, actress, dancer, and influential humanitarian activist. Born on November 16, 1988, in Urmia, Iran, to a Kurdish family, she had a challenging childhood as a refugee after her family fled Iraq and settled in Finland. At the age of 18, she moved to Los Angeles alone to pursue her artistic dreams. Her career began to gain traction on social media platforms like Myspace, which captured the attention of Grammy-winning producer Los Da Mystro. In 2013, she signed with G2 Music Group and released her debut single, "Risk It All," which became a major success by blending Middle Eastern rhythms with world-pop. Her career is not limited to music; in 2014, she starred in the feature film "Mardan," becoming the first Kurdish actress to attend the Toronto International Film Festival. Luv is renowned for her artistic bravery, notably filming the music video for her 2015 single "Revolution" near the front lines of the fight against ISIS in Iraq, powerfully highlighting her people's cause and struggle. Alongside her artistic endeavors, Helly Luv also established the "Luvion" beauty salon in Erbil.
