Ramez Galal is an Egyptian actor and television host, born in Cairo on April 20, 1973. He grew up in an artistic family; his father was the late theater director Galal Tawfik, and his brother is the actor Yasser Galal. This environment honed his talent and led him to enroll in the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, where he graduated from the Acting and Directing department in 1995, alongside future stars like Ahmed El Sakka and Ahmed Helmy. Galal began his career with minor roles in theater and television, participating in the play "Goz we Loz" in 1993. He then moved to television, appearing in series like "Hayat Al-Gohary" (1997), which helped build his reputation. His major cinematic breakthrough came with his first leading role in the 2007 film "Ahlam al-Fata al-Tayesh." He went on to star in numerous comedy films, including "Ghesh El Zawgeya" (2012) and "Raghda Motawahesha" (2018). However, Ramez Galal achieved his most significant fame through his annual Ramadan prank shows, a series he started in 2011. The first was "Ramez Qalb al-Asad," followed by a string of successful shows like "Ramez Qersh Elbahr" (2014), "Ramez Plays with Fire" (2016), and "Ramez is Officially Crazy" (2020), up to "Ramez Gab men El Akher" (2024). His shows have featured international celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Paris Hilton, and Steven Seagal, consistently achieving record-breaking viewership across the Arab world.
