About Amr Saad

Amr Saad is a prominent Egyptian actor, born in the Sayeda Zeinab district of Cairo and raised in Ain Shams. He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts with a degree in decoration but his passion for acting led him to pursue a different career path. His artistic journey began in the late 1990s with small roles in films by the acclaimed director Youssef Chahine, including "The Other" (1999) and director Yousry Nasrallah's "El Medina" (The City) (2000). A pivotal moment in his career was his collaboration with director Khaled Youssef, who cast him in leading roles that cemented his stardom. His role in "Hena Maysara" (2007), which tackled the issue of Cairo's slums, was a massive critical and commercial success. He followed this with another powerful performance in "Dokan Shehata" (2009), where he excelled at portraying a popular hero. His filmography showcases his versatility, with notable works including the action-drama "Al-Kibar" (The Big Guns) (2010), "Hadeed" (Iron) (2014), and "Regatta" (2015). Saad has also achieved significant success in television drama, becoming a staple of the Ramadan season with hit series like "Mamlaket El Gabal" (2010), "Shar'a Abdel Aziz" Parts 1 & 2 (2011, 2014), "Younis Weld Fedda" (2016), "Tawba" (2022), and "Al-Aghar" (2023). He is widely recognized for his ability to portray complex, realistic characters, earning him a reputation as a powerful and authentic performer.

Amr Saad's Achievements

His 2017 film "Mawlana" (The Preacher), based on a novel by Ibrahim Eissa, was a major critical success. For his portrayal of a young preacher navigating the pressures of media and state, Saad won several Best Actor awards, including from the Luxor African Film Festival, the 33rd Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, the Tétouan Mediterranean Film Festival, and the Egyptian Catholic Center for Cinema Festival. In 2023, Amr Saad received the Capri Mediterraneum Award at the Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in Italy for his role in the international film "The Goat." This honor made him the second Egyptian actor, after the legendary Omar Sharif, to be recognized by the festival, highlighting his growing international presence. His 2022 Ramadan series, "Tawba," topped Google search trends in Egypt. For his role, he won the Best Actor award by public vote at the 2023 Dear Guest Awards, confirming his immense popularity and the impact of his television work on Egyptian and Arab audiences. Continuing his television success, his 2026 Ramadan series "Efrag" (Release) won Best Egyptian Series in a poll by the popular show "ET Bel Arabi." The series, co-starring Tara Emad and Hatem Salah, was directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa and produced by Sadek Anwar Al-Sabah.

Education

Graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts at Cairo University, where he majored in the decoration department.
