Mahmoud Samir Ellithy El Deeb, known professionally as Mahmoud Ellithy, is a versatile Egyptian artist who has combined Sha'abi singing, composing, and acting to become one of the most prominent stars of popular music in Egypt and the Arab world. Born on June 12, 1979, in Alexandria, he developed a love for music and singing from a young age. Despite his early talent, he enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering to fulfill his father's wishes, but his passion for art later drove him to pursue a professional singing career. Ellithy began his artistic journey in the early 2000s by performing religious invocations (Tawasheeh) and singing at local weddings, where he honed his skills and built a fanbase. His official debut was his first album, "Asfourein" (Two Birds), in 2004, followed by albums like "Ya Rab" (Oh Lord) in 2005 and "Kan Fi Walad" (There Was a Boy) in 2006. His song in the 2009 film "Ebqa Abelni" marked a turning point, but his major breakthrough came with the hit "Souq El Banat" from the 2011 film "Share' Al Haram," which achieved widespread popularity and solidified his status. In addition to singing, Ellithy has participated in numerous films and television series as both an actor and singer, delivering famous tracks like "Zelzal," "Bonbonaya," and "Am Ya Sayyad," and has collaborated with notable artists such as Ahmed Mekky and Maya Diab.
