Anjo Rihane is a Lebanese actress and writer, born in the town of Kfar Sir in Southern Lebanon. She moved to Beirut at the age of eighteen, where she began her academic and artistic journey. She first earned a degree in visual arts and worked as a drama and visual arts teacher in 2000. She later honed her craft at the Institute of Fine Arts at the Lebanese University, graduating with a diploma in acting and directing. Rihane began her professional acting career in 2005, quickly establishing herself as one of the most prominent actresses in Lebanon and the Arab world. Rihane is renowned for her exceptional ability to transition seamlessly between comedy and tragedy. She gained widespread popularity through her role in the satirical comedy show "Mafi Metlo". In cinema, she participated in notable films such as Nadine Labaki's acclaimed "Where Do We Go Now?". In television drama, she has delivered diverse performances in series like "Salon Zahra," "Crystal," "Wa Akheeran," "Cello," and "Al-Shahroura." However, her most significant impact has been in monodrama theatre. Her collaboration with writer and director Yehya Jaber resulted in a successful trilogy of one-woman shows: "Esme Julia" (My Name is Julia), "Mjaddara Hamra," for which she won a best actress award, and "Shu Mnelbos." These plays, which blend autobiography with pressing social issues, have toured extensively in Lebanon, the Arab world, and beyond, solidifying her status as a formidable stage performer.
