Lina El Tahtawy is a prominent Egyptian television and radio presenter, and entrepreneur who has emerged as an influential young media personality in Egypt. Born on November 26, 1995, she is the daughter of renowned composer Tarek El Tahtawy. Her career began unconventionally as a football player for Wadi Degla Club, but a cruciate ligament injury ended her athletic pursuits, steering her toward her other passion: media. El Tahtawy graduated from the Faculty of Mass Communication at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA). She began her media career as a sports correspondent, quickly establishing a strong on-screen presence. She has hosted several programs on OnTime Sports, starting with "Sabah Al Mondial" during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. She later became a main presenter on the news program "Akhbar ONTime" and has co-hosted the talent discovery show "Capitano Masr" since late 2022. In addition to her television work, El Tahtawy has achieved success in radio, hosting the program "Klakit" on the popular station Nogoum FM since early 2022. She recently launched her own podcast, "Lina Kalam Tany," which focuses on the topic of motherhood. As an entrepreneur, she founded her own maternity wear brand, "ByLina," an idea born from her personal experiences during her pregnancy with her son, Farid, from her marriage to blogger Mohamed Farag.
