Saber Rebai, dubbed the "Prince of Arab Tarab," is a prominent Tunisian artist and composer born in Sfax on March 13, 1967. He grew up in an artistic family, learning the oud from his father and singing from his mother. His artistic journey began at a young age; at eleven, he and his school band won first place in a competition in Iraq. His official breakthrough came in 1984 when he won first place in the Tunisian talent show "Nadi Al-Mawaheb" (Club of Talents), which motivated him to pursue formal musical education. He enrolled at the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis, where he studied for seven years, specializing in the oud and violin. Rebai launched his professional career in the early 1990s, releasing his debut album "Yalli Bjamalak" in 1991. However, his 2000 album "Sidi Mansour" was a major turning point, with the title track becoming a massive hit across the Arab world. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with legendary composers and poets like Helmi Bakr and Salah El Sharnoubi, and has also composed many of his own songs. He has performed on prestigious international stages, including the Olympia in Paris and the Cairo Opera House, and has been a fixture at major festivals like the Carthage International Festival. In addition to his music, Rebai served as a coach on the popular TV talent show "The Voice: Ahla Sawt" for several seasons.
