Sonata Skaf is an emerging Syrian director, actress, and influencer, and the only daughter of veteran Syrian actors Andre Skaf and Sawsan Abu Afar. Raised in an artistic household, her passion for the arts was cultivated from a young age. She studied film directing in Damascus and Beirut, launching her career as a director and content creator on social media platforms, where she formed her own creative team of young artists. In 2023, Skaf launched a campaign called "Artia," a social initiative aimed at promoting natural female beauty and raising awareness against the obsession with cosmetic surgery and digital filters; her mother also participated in the campaign. Not content with staying behind the camera, she recently ventured into acting, taking on roles in several Syrian drama series. Her notable performances include the series "Al Maq'ad Al Akheer" (The Last Seat), where she played a content creator obsessed with numbers, as well as roles in "Al Mohafaza 15" (District 15), "Matbakh Al Madinah" (City Kitchen), and "Sakrat Al Hob" (Sweetness of Love). Skaf views her entry into acting as a significant responsibility, given her family's artistic legacy, and is keen to prove her talent independently.
