Zeina Makki is a prominent Lebanese actress and director, born and raised in Kuwait until the age of 18, after which she moved to her home country, Lebanon. Her father is the well-known journalist Ahmed Ali Makki. In Lebanon, she honed her artistic talents by studying Screenwriting and Directing at Notre Dame University - Louaize (NDU). Makki began her career by appearing in over 10 short films during her university years. However, her breakthrough role came in 2013 with the lead in the feature film "Habbet Loulou". She also demonstrated her directorial talent early on, winning Best Documentary Short at the Monaco Film Festival in 2012 for her film "Bent Not Broken". She has since built a versatile career in joint Arab drama and cinema, taking on diverse and complex roles that showcase her profound talent. Her notable television credits include the series "Ma Fiyi" (Parts 1 & 2), "Tareeq", "Dentelle", "Salon Zahra", "Shatti Ya Beirut", and "El Nar Bel Nar". She has also starred in significant films such as "Al Hayba" and "Bingo". Beyond her acting career, Makki is an inspirational public figure. She shared her personal journey with scoliosis, for which she underwent major surgery as a child, at the Forbes Middle East Healthcare Summit 2023, becoming a symbol of strength and resilience.
