Ali Mahmoud Al-Issawi, a prominent Iraqi singer and composer, was born in Baghdad on February 7, 1967. He is considered one of the most significant figures in popular Tarab music in Iraq and the Arab world. His artistic journey officially began in 1989, starting with an unofficially recorded album at his home titled "La." However, his major breakthrough came with his first official album, "Makhtouba," which garnered him widespread fame across the Arab region. This success was followed by a series of popular albums, including "Jeet W Salhteni," "Dawwara," and "Ba'ad Ma Rabbak Antak." Al-Issawi is distinguished by his emotional voice and deep sensitivity, excelling in performing Mawawil and songs that blend Iraqi authenticity with a contemporary style. A multi-talented artist, he is proficient in playing several musical instruments, including the organ and flute. He is also a gifted composer, having created melodies for other artists, most notably Majed Al Mohandes's song "Khalas." He has collaborated with esteemed poets and composers like Abbas Jamil and Taleb Al-Qaraghuli. For several years, he resided in Jordan, which served as the launchpad for his career in the wider Arab world, particularly after his participation in the Shabeeb Festival in 1994, before moving to the Arab Gulf region and later Syria.
