Maisoun Abou Asaad is a Syrian actress, born in Homs on January 25, 1982. She grew up in an artistic family; her father is a poet and her older sister is the actress Lora Abou Asaad, which fostered her passion for the arts from a young age. She honed her talent through academic study, graduating from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. She later traveled to Egypt and earned a diploma in Theatrical Directing from the Academy of Arts in Cairo. Abou Asaad officially began her career in 2001 on stage in the play "Classic" and made her television debut the same year in the series "Sihr Al-Sharq". Her roles have spanned television, cinema, and theater, and she is known for her ability to portray complex characters. Her role as "Basma" in the 2009 series "An Al-Khawf wa Al-Uzla" was a significant turning point in her career. Her notable television works include "Bab Al-Hara," "Wara'a Al-Shams," "Suqut Al-Khilafa," "Hara'er," and "Indama Tashikh Al-Dhi'ab." She has also had a significant presence in cinema with films like "Mariam" and "Souriyon" (Syrians), directed by Bassel Al-Khatib. In addition to acting, she has excelled in voice-over work, lending her voice to famous characters in dubbed Turkish series such as "Sanawat Al-Dayaa" (Years of Loss) and "Noor."
