About Nedaa Shrara

Nedaa Shrara, full name Nedaa Nimer Abu Shrara, is a Jordanian singer, composer, and songwriter born in Amman on December 28, 1993. She rose to prominence across the Arab world after winning the title of the third season of the talent show "The Voice: Ahla Sawt" in 2015, becoming the first contestant wearing a hijab to win the Arabic version of the competition, under the mentorship of Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel-Wahab. Before her television breakthrough, Shrara worked as a teacher for children with special needs, holding a diploma in Special Education. Her early artistic journey began with the Ammoun Troupe for Heritage and Arts, participating in local events like the Jordanian Song Festival. Following her win, she launched a successful professional career, releasing her debut album "Baadou Etrak" in 2018 and numerous hit singles, including "Sahrana Ana," "Habbaytak Bel Thalata," and "Qalahali." She has also gained recognition for composing and performing theme songs for television series, such as "Haddouta Manseya" (2024). Nedaa is known for her powerful Tarab-style vocals, her talent for writing and composing her own music, and her commitment to humanitarian causes, having launched the "Nedaa's Hope" initiative to support individuals with special needs.

Nedaa Shrara's Achievements

In 2015, Nedaa Shrara achieved a historic milestone by winning the third season of "The Voice: Ahla Sawt," becoming the first artist wearing a hijab to win the Arabic version of the global franchise. This victory not only secured her a recording contract but also established her as a symbol of perseverance and defiance of stereotypes in the Arab art scene, earning her a personal congratulations from Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan. She has performed at some of the most prestigious festivals in the Arab world, notably the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in Jordan for multiple editions (including 2016 and 2021), and the esteemed Arab Music Festival at the Cairo Opera House in 2016. In 2023, she performed at the Palestine International Festival, marking her first-ever performance in Palestine. Beyond her musical career, Shrara launched a humanitarian initiative in 2016 called "Nedaa's Hope" (Nidaa Al Amal). The initiative is dedicated to supporting and assisting individuals with special needs, aiming to highlight their talents and capabilities, which reflects her strong commitment to social causes.
