Hamza Namira is a prominent Egyptian artist, songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, regarded as one of the most celebrated figures in modern Arabic music. Born on November 15, 1980, in Saudi Arabia to Egyptian parents, he later returned to Egypt and graduated from Alexandria University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Commerce. Namira's musical journey began at a young age. In 1999, he joined the Alexandria-based band "El Hob Wel Salam" (Love and Peace), a formative experience that honed his skills. He later formed his own band, "Nomaira," in 2001. His solo career took off after signing with Awakening Records in 2007, leading to his debut album "Ehlam Ma'aya" (Dream With Me) in 2008, which was met with widespread acclaim. He followed this success with a series of popular albums, including "Insan" (A Human) in 2011, "Esmaani" (Listen to Me) in 2014, "Hateer Min Tany" (I Will Fly Again) in 2018, "Mawlood Sanat 80" (Born in the Year 80) in 2020, and his latest album "Raye2" (Chill) in 2023. His work is distinguished by its focus on social and humanitarian themes, resonating deeply with Arab youth. Namira became closely associated with the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, with his music considered an anthem for his generation. In addition to his albums, he hosted the popular TV show "Remix," where he revived folk songs from across the Arab world with a modern twist.
