Mahmoud Nasr, born on August 1, 1983, is a prominent Syrian actor considered one of the leading figures in contemporary Syrian and Arab drama. Born in Al-Suwayda, Syria, he developed an early passion for acting that led him to enroll at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus, despite achieving high school grades that qualified him for engineering school. He graduated in 2006 at the top of his class, which earned him a scholarship to further his artistic studies in France. Nasr began his professional career in 2007, with his true breakthrough coming in the series "Mamarat Dayyeqa" (Narrow Paths). He consistently took on roles that showcased his ability to portray complex and diverse characters, notably playing Zayd ibn al-Khattab in the 2012 historical series "Omar." However, his role as "Orwa Al Ghoul" in the 2016 series "Al Nadam" (The Regret) was a major turning point, achieving widespread critical acclaim and cementing his status as a top-tier star. He has continued to feature in major pan-Arab productions such as "Kingdoms of Fire" (2019), "Dentelle" (2020), "Crystal" (2023), and more recently "Awlad Badia" (2024), gaining extensive fame across the Arab world.
