Mai Omar is an Egyptian actress who has emerged as one of the most prominent stars in Arab drama and cinema. Born in Cairo, she studied Journalism and Mass Communication at the American University in Cairo (AUC), where her passion for acting began through university theater. Despite initial opposition from her family, she pursued her dream, starting her career in production and directing, even directing a music video for singer Rola Saad, but she realized her true calling was in front of the camera. Her acting breakthrough came in 2013 when her husband, director Mohamed Samy, cast her as "Walaa" in the series "Hekayet Hayat" (A Life's Story). Her talent quickly garnered attention, leading to a series of successful roles. Her portrayal of "Shahed" in the 2016 series "Al Ostora" (The Legend) catapulted her to widespread fame. She proved her ability to lead as the main protagonist in the series "Lu'lu'" (Pearl) (2020), for which she also co-wrote the story, and continued her success with the lead role as a lawyer in "Ne'ama El Avoccato" (2024). In addition to television, she has appeared in films such as "Tesbah Ala Khair" (Goodnight) (2017) and "Harley" (2023).
