Mohamad Omar Osso is a Syrian actor and writer of Kurdish origin, born in Damascus on July 13, 1978. He has emerged as a prominent figure in Syrian black comedy and social drama, celebrated for his ability to portray complex characters rooted in Syrian reality. His major breakthrough came in 2005 with the series "Bukra Ahla" (Tomorrow is Better), where he not only starred as the memorable character "Kassmo" but also wrote the screenplay. The dual role earned him widespread fame and an Adonia Award for Best Writer. Osso continued to build a successful career by both writing and starring in his projects, including the notable series "Kasr Al-Khawater" (Breaking Spirits) in 2006 as "Salata" and "Katheer Min Al-Hob Katheer Min Al-Unf" (Lots of Love, Lots of Violence) in 2007 as "Haroon." He is also known for his political opposition to the Syrian regime, which led to his arrest and subsequent departure from Syria to reside in the United States for several years. After a nearly 15-year hiatus from Syrian drama, he made a significant comeback with the series "Bint Al-Nu'man" in Ramadan 2026. In addition to his television work, Osso connects with his audience through his YouTube channel, launched in 2019, where he shares personal stories and behind-the-scenes content.
