Ramez Alaswad is a Syrian actor and theater director, born on October 15, 1976. He is the son of the late visual artist Khaled Al Aswad. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus with a degree in Acting in 1998, launching a distinguished career in theater, television, and film. In 2006, he co-founded the "Independent Autumn Theater" with his colleague Nawar Bulbul, serving as an actor, director, and manager for the troupe. Through this platform, he directed notable plays such as "The Solitary." Alaswad's theatrical work gained international recognition through his participation in numerous prestigious festivals in the United States, Japan, Canada, and Spain, where he earned awards for his performances. Alongside his stage career, he has built a strong presence in Syrian and Arab television drama. He has appeared in dozens of series, becoming known for his versatile and compelling roles in popular shows like "Bab Al-Hara," "Kingdoms of Fire" (2019), "Shatti Ya Beirut" (2021), "Wlad Badee'a" (2024), and "Khareef Omar" (2023). He currently divides his time between Syria and Canada with his family.
