Shadi Walid Ahmed Srour, born in Cairo on April 21, 1995, is an Egyptian actor, filmmaker, and pioneering YouTuber. He is considered one of the first and most prominent digital content creators in the Arab world, having launched his career in 2012 by teaching himself filmmaking online. Srour initially gained widespread popularity through the "Vines" phenomenon, creating short, satirical sketches that humorously depicted social and everyday life situations. Srour distinguished himself by handling nearly every aspect of production himself, including writing, acting, directing, and editing, which helped him build a massive following and made his YouTube channel one of the fastest-growing in the Middle East. In 2016, he undertook his first professional cinematic project, writing and co-starring with actress Bushra in the parody film "Titanic: The Arabic Version." Srour's career has been marked by significant milestones and controversies. In December 2019, he was detained upon his return to Egypt in connection with a case involving accusations of spreading false news. He was released in 2021 and has since continued his activities on various social media platforms, maintaining his connection with his audience.
