Tamer Hosny Sherif Abbas Farghaly, born on August 16, 1977, to an Egyptian father and a Syrian mother, is a comprehensive artist widely known as the "Star of the Generation." Raised in Cairo, he faced a challenging childhood after his parents' separation, leading him to take on various jobs to support his family. He later enrolled in the Faculty of Mass Communication at 6th of October University, where his artistic talent began to flourish during university events. He was discovered by media personality Salma El Shamaa, who introduced him to producer Nasr Mahrous, launching his professional career. His breakthrough came in 2002 with a joint album with singer Sherine Abdel Wahab, "Free Mix 3." In 2004, he released his debut solo album, "Hob" (Love), which was a major success and solidified his position in the Arab pop scene. His talents extend beyond singing to composing, songwriting, and acting. His cinematic debut was in the 2003 film "Halet Hob" (A State of Love). He followed this with a string of box-office hits, including the popular "Omar & Salma" trilogy, "Captain Hima," and "El Badla" (The Suit), which achieved record-breaking revenues. Hosny has also ventured into directing films he stars in, such as "Bahbak" (I Love You), and has written many of his own works, establishing himself as a multi-faceted artist with a unique creative vision.
